Hallways often symbolize the unconscious passageways through which people travel to either life or death. They also represent a new level of consciousness or a new experience, as well as a journey into the unknown. (See also Corridor).

The theme: Death is more powerful than life or growth. Death is unavoidable, regardless of one's wealth or power. People must confront their problems rather than try to hide from them.

My explanation: Even thought they tried to run away from the problem the death will it found them and at the end out of day they all died.
