Causes indiviuals to act and work in a willing way. This is important for businesses because workers work more efficietly, faster and harder when motivated. Also positive workforce creates a positive image for the company.

F.W. Taylor

He believes the more the workers are paid the more motivated yhey would be. He waned to pay them acording to how much they worked. But there were several critisism of his theory. Esencially it was concluded that his theory was uneffective.

Herzberg

He belived there were two sets of motivatrs. One set was the essencials, the basic needs, (Hygine) and the other was motivators. If the hygine factor was not satisfied the motivators wouldnt work.
