Conflict theory originated in the work of Karl Marx, who focused on the causes and consequences of class conflict between what was then called the bourgeoisie (the owners of the means of production and the capitalists — basically the rich people) and the proletariat (the working class and the poor).
The conflict theory involves every active member in our society. Conflict theory sees social life as a competition, and focuses on the distribution of resources, power, and inequality.
On The Amazing World of Gumball, Tobias was the rich kid at school. His mom gave him "good points" when he did his chores which he can trade to make real money. He told gumball and Darwin about these points and told them to do the work. They're doing all of his work, while Tobias promised them "good points".
