EFFECTIVE REPORT WRITING- CLAYTON VIEW PRIMARY SCHOOL

1. Get to know your students as well as you possibly can

2. Create opportunities to hear your students speak

3. Delete the statement bank

4. Cut back meaningless generic waffle

5. Have you proofread your own work?

6. Open your report well; including the student's name and a positive comment to commence.

7. Consider 'soft skills', such as the ability to collaborate

8. How quickly do students grasp ideas and develop concepts?

9. How well do they write?

10. Aim to write something that isn’t bland

11. Think of your report as a kind of signature of the style of teacher that you'd like to represent.

12. Consider your tone

13. Have you combined helpful criticism with constructive praise?

14. Do you offer helpful suggestions?
