SCA™ Training Courses & Webinars

The Aphasia Institute offers training sessions for health care professionals on how to work with clients with aphasia and to help them overcome communication barriers.

Also provides speaker series

Introduction to SCA™ eLearning

& MORE SELF-DIRECTED MODULES

A short, self-directed module that provides an overview of the basic concepts of SCA™. Participants will develop an understanding of aphasia and how it affects communication and learn techniques to decrease language barriers and improve access to healthcare for individuals with aphasia.

Through Community Hub, health care providers can:

Access online resource binders that can be saved to personal online binders

Any forum, binder, etc here would be secondary .. not a core draw

Register for any training and receive all updates in one place

Hold discussions with class members in forums about ongoing experiences & learning

ParticiPics is a free, searchable database of pictographic images designed to facilitate life's conversations. ParticiPics is being migrated to the Community Hub.

A group on Community Hub can be created for members of an organization to

  • connect,
  • have discussions,
  • share resources in one space,
  • create/share scheduled events, and
  • access binder with free resources from AI

COULD ASSIST WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF SCA IN ORGANIZATION

Through Community Hub, users will be able to:

  • Access and download pictographs
  • Access and download templates
  • Create & Share aphasia-friendly resources using the pictographs
  • Access aphasia-friendly resources created by colleagues

NOTE THAT: this involves a lot of staff time to keep users engaged (events etc)

Group for health care providers who use specific resources to learn more about how they can use it in their practice, understand from others' experiences, access additional up-to-date information and helpful tips and tricks
