  • An absence can be excused ahead of time by contacting a manager/supervisor for such reasons as illness, emergencies, and schedule conflicts with tests or at the manager/supervisor’s discretion.

Attendance Policy

"You are responsible for working scheduled hours unless they are picked up by another co-worker or they are excused by a full time staff member.“

Attendance Policy

*If you are verbally excused (in person or on telephone), following up with an email to the lab-fte email would be wise

Running Late?

Running Late?

  • Call lab supervisor or student leader to alert the lab.

  • Adjust your schedule to ensure you arrive on time.

  • Prevent being late moving forward.

  • Habitual tardiness is equal to missed shifts.

  • Don't just speak to a student worker, make sure you are speaking to a student leader, supervisor or lab manager when running late.

Dropping Hours

Dropping Hours

  • 2 Types of Dropping Hours

  • Dropping Scheduled Hours prior 24+ Hours notice

  • Drop hours as early as possible on Scheduler

  • Watch Scheduler to know if hours were picked up.

  • If hours are still on your schedule 2-3 days before, contact your supervisor (in person, using the lab-fte email on the yellow contact card or phone call) asking to be specifically excused for those hours.

Dropping Hours 24 Hours or Less Notice

Dropping Hours 24 Hours or Less Notice

Giving away hours within 24 hours of the scheduled hours is considered an emergency drop of hours.

Listserv addresses: scc-fte@listserv.tamu.edu,

wcl-fte@listserv.tamu.edu,

oal-bloc-fte@listserv.tamu.edu

**If you are unable to reach a computer to accomplish #2 and #3, advise the supervisor/student leader. A full time supervisor can do it for you.

NOTE – all hours for that day will be dropped and you will not be allowed to pick up more hours that day.

Scheduled vs Unscheduled hours

Scheduled vs Unscheduled hours

  • During your training period you will be scheduled for the required number of hours at the lab to complete training – Ideally in the print room but you may work in other workstations if required
  • After completing your training period, you will be scheduled for a percentage of your requested hours.
  • You will be able to pick up hours in any position, any lab, for hours over your scheduled hours, not to exceed the maximum total hours including training classes.
  • You can Take/Drop both scheduled and unscheduled hour
  • You cannot drop hours to pick up hours at another lab
