A HERO'S JOURNEY : MOANA
Call to Adventure
STEP 1
Experiencing
the Known World
Moanas Journey begins as soon as her island begins to worsen because the heart of TE FITI was took. In order to save her village, she must take the heart and deliver it back to the island of TE FITI. It was difficult for Moana to do that because her father had one rule which was to not ever go past the reef because it was dangerous.
Hesitant about the Call
Moana's grandmother got very sick. Her grandmother demanded her to leave the island to save her village but she refuses to leave her side. She fears to lose her grandmother and not be there .
Crossing the 1st Threshold
STEP 2
Journey into an Unknown
World
As soon as Moana begins the acceptance of her call to adventure and sail past the reef is when she crosses the first threshold. This is where you can see the line between the shore and the reef, also known as the threshold into the unknown. This is whens he starts facing many challenges such as getting caught in a sea storm, encountering ( Kakamora ) coconut monsters with Maui. Facing the the crab ( Tamatoa ) to reclaim Maui's hook. Making it to TEFITI but there is a very dangerous guard ( Botha ) that wont allow them to pass, mid battle Maui's hoook is destroyed, that is when Moana comes face to face with Botha and they both come to a realization.

After Moana comes to the realization that TEKA is in fact the heartless TEFITI, she faces her greatest fear during the climax of her battle. Maui's soon abandons Moana turns himself into a hawk and flies away. Leaving Moana by herself. She begs the water to chose someone else to return the heart and so the water takes the heart back from her. Soon as she realizes its meant for her, she decides to continue her Journey. She tries to fight off TAKA by herself when facing the lava monster and thats when Maui returns to help her fight off TAKA without caring if his hook gets striken.

Journey
Moana is recompensed a boat and a secure travel back to her home island, MontunuiI. Maui is also recompensed with a new magical fish hook from TEFITI . When she finally returns to Motunui her island. She finds her village rejoicing because their island is no longer thanks to her bravery and success.
