Shirley Chisholm was born Shirley Anita St. Hill
In 1968, she became the first black woman elected to the United States Congress!
She spent about half her childhood in
Barbados
She was the First woman and African American to be nomination for president of the United States
Shirley was constantly subjected to prejecdice not just because of her race but because she was a wwomen as well , when i research her, the things that were most talked about was how much of a "go getter she was and how she let nothing stop her or get in her way she is a role modle for not just womeoen but all people because she demestrated what never giving up is and going agaist obstiucles with grace and showing that you are notdefined by what others think about you, she alos had some incredible and revolutionalry ideas about politics and wallstreet.
She is an author of a published book entitled:"Unbossed and Unbought"

Shirley was born in new york and was teh oldest of four girls. and attenenedted an all girls high school where she graduated and later pursured a degree in teaching, she graduated from university of comlumbia with a masters in Education and child development.
