roles of people in society

there are seven stages in society the first would have been the pharaoh this person pretty much ran everything and was believed to be a minor god.

the second stage in the society was the vizier. the Vizier were next after the pharaoh, they are also known as djat or tjat. They were the administrated head of the government. They implemented the pharaohs policies. They also arranged the various governmental agencies to help carry them out.

Next would probably be the nobles and priest. The nobles were the only ones who were able to hold governmental posts. In these positions the nobles and priest profited from tributes paid to the Pharaoh. The priest job was to please the gods for the people they grew wealthy from the gifts that people gave to the gods.

For a while the pharaoh was convinced that they needed a military to protect themselves but later when the hyksos started to invade they realized that a military was needed. A soldiers life was not always the easiest they needed to train to keep their endurance and strength and they used many weapons the most important was probably the bow and arrow. The soldiers also worked as farmers and construction workers if they were not in war.

Scribes would come up after the soldiers. The scribes were probably the most important part of the ancient Egypt if it was not for them we would probably not know that much about ancient Egypt. They were the ones who wrote the hielogriphics in the tombs. They also wrote the stalks in the markets. Their writing is one of the only sources of what life was like back then. Scribes were also the bases to the academics and culture of ancient Egypt.

Craftsman were the artists of the time. They made everything from amulets to paintings their paintings revolved around there beliefs at the time. They were not allowed to sign there work but if it was good word would get a round saying who did it. They usually lived comfortable lives.

the farmers grew and harvested the crops that fed the people of ancient Egypt. During the flooding season farmers would work on building projects for the Pharaoh. The slaves worked in the pharaohs palace doing daily chores to keep it running
