MINE and MILL PRACTICE
• In 1935- Incorporated as Masbate Consolidated Mining Company.
• In 1953- Incorporated as Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation (“Atlas Mining”) from a merger of Antamok Gold Mines, Masbate Consolidated Mining Company and IXL Mining Company under the aegis of Andres Soriano y Roxas.
• In 1955- it started mining operations in Lutopan pit and milling operations at 4,000 dry short tons (DST) of ore per day until it expanded its plant capacity to 10,000 DST per day.
• In 1970’s- Atlas Mining was listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and in the American Stock Exchange which led to a sizeable influx of US capital in the mining industry in the Philippines.
• On June 30, 1978- Atlas Mining had steadily grown through the years and at its peak, had attained a milling capacity of 110,000 dry metric tons (DMT) per day.
• In 1985 to 1995- Atlas production began to reduce due to falling copper price and operational downsizing that resulted to delisting in American Stock Exchange (ASX).
• In 2003- Ramos-owned Alakor Corporation acquired substantial shares in the company.
• In 2006- Atlas Mining concluded a funding transaction with Crescent Asian Special Opportunities Portfolio (CASOP), a Singapore-based equity partner, to finance the Toledo Copper Mine rehabilitation and reopening.
• In September 2007- it started full-scale rehabilitation of the Toledo Copper Mine.
• In 2008- Production resumed with a start-up milling rate of 20,000 metric tons of copper ore per day and completed its first shipment of copper concentrate to China.
• In 2011- SM Investments Corporation (SMIC) becomes a major shareholder.
-Atlas buys out CASOP to own 100% of Carmen.
-Decision made to mine Carmen ore body by open pit mining.
• In 2012- CCC approved plant capacity expansion to 60,000 TPD and first ore mined from Carmen open pit.
• Carmen Copper Corporation a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation.
• It has an operating agreement with Atlas Mining and it has exclusive operating rights over the in situ mineral resources and ore reserves of Carmen, Lutopan and Biga mineral deposits, collectively known as Toledo copper mine covering 1,674 hectares while the actual pit mining area is about 293 hectares.
• To optimize its operations, and in line with the expansion of its beneficiation plant, Carmen Copper is pursuing the development and commercial distribution of marketable by-products from its copper concentrate processing such as molybdenum, magnetite, and pyrite.

COMMODITY
• The Toledo copper mine is one of the Philippines' largest copper mines, thus making Carmen Copper a principal producer and exporter of copper concentrate in the country.
• Atlas Mining’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Carmen Copper Corporation, took advantage of the higher metal prices with improved production in the first quarter.
a) Copper metal produced increased by 16% from 17.55 million pounds to 20.32 million pounds as ore milled improved to 3.99 million tonnes of ore from 3.14 million tonnes of ore year-on-year.
b) Gold production also improved year-on-year by 59% from 4,120 ounces to 6,537 ounces.
• Correspondingly, shipment volume increased 16% from 19.47 million pounds of copper metal to 22.60 million pounds.
• With the increase in production and shipment, cash costs for the period were higher by 33% to Php2.72 billion from Php2.05 billion in the first quarter of 2017. Average cost per pound remained stable from USD1.75/lb. to USD1.77/lb.
