Speak Slowly

Speak Slowly

  • Articulate each word carefully, so that your accent does not confuse the listener.
  • Don’t speak loudly – people do this at times, and it's very insulting.
  • Slowing down your speech, even if you're pressured for time, don’t rush through your communication.
  • Doing so often takes more time, as miscommunication and misunderstanding's can result and you’ll ultimately have to invest additional time in clearing up the confusion.

Continued

  • Never raise your voice or over-enunciate your words.
  • Talk slower, not louder. Speak clearly, not forcefully.
  • People of a different language and culture can hear fine. They are intelligent enough to grasp what you are saying if you intelligently deliver your message without talking down to them.
  • Don’t speak “Pidgin English.” Speak correct English, just more clearly. People cannot learn a language right if you don’t speak it right.

Conclusion

  • To sum up, speaking slowly, being patient, and asking for clarification are the effective methods to obtain the expected results when you are working in a group. Implementing these areas improves communication and understanding between co-workers or team members for effective results.
