Rainforests are found in Asia, Africa, South America, and Australia. They are only found around the equator. South America harbors the biggest rainforest in the world. Australia has thesmallest rainforest.
Why Is The Rainforest Important?
Rainforests are a big help to stabilize Earth's climate by absorbing carbon dioxide. Rainforests help reduce the effects of worldwide climate change.
There are approximately 10 million species of animals!!!!!! isn't that amazing ?
Emergent Layer: The emergent layer of the rainforest is covered with giant trees that thrust above a dense canopy layer.
Canopy Layer: The brod irregular crowns of these trees form a tight continuos 60 to 90 feet above the ground.
Understory: Receiving only 2-15% of the sunlight falls on the canopy, the understory is a dark place.
Forest Floor: The forest floor receives less then 2% of sunlight and consequently little grows.
