-Spent his life anylizing the growth of the industrial revolution.

-saw that people were becoming more rational through time, as society grew

- Saw modern rationality through the Prodestant Reformation

- Believed that political parties were an example of social stratification or how the way that people are divided in society due to their position of power

Thomas Hobbes

- Hobbes was a contractarian, which means he believed that people would make right choices due to a hypotheticl social contract

-Hobbes also believed in following the rules of any ruler/ president/ king, to avoid a recreating events in the past like the English Civil War.

-Thomas Hobbes believed all people to be inherintly evil; he called this a natural state, which is the state we are in before we are influenced by society

Max Weber believed that all people grew to become more rational throughout time, yet Hobbes believed people were inherintly evil and were influenced by society.

Similarities

Both believed that you should obey the ruler/ king of your country, no matter if it was law or if it would stabilize society. These two philosophers also believed in social structure and political structure, and about how society gradually became better.
