Who started the operation was George H.W. Bush(U.S President)

It happened because it was a UN-waged war led by the United States against Iraq and was a response to Iraq’s Invasion and annexation of Kuwait.

It happened january 16th, 1991

Who were involved were The United States and the UN Security Council.Kuwait Iraq.

The results were the UN resolution 678, which authorized the use of force to compel Iraq to withdraw from kuwait.

Stategic Arms Reduction Treaty

Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty

The treaty is about restricting the United States to approximately 8,556 nuclear warheads and the Soviet Union to approximately 6,449 nuclear warheads. Weapons in excess of the agreed upon number would be disarmed and Launch Facilities destroyed.

The United States and the Soviet Union were involved in the treaty.

It happened July 31, 1991

The treaty achieved to remove 80% of all strategic nuclear weapons then in existence.

Rodney King Riots

It happened April 19, 1992 and was in Los Angeles county.

The event that started it was four officers beating Rodney King and killing him for resisting arrest and It set them off because there was a video of the cops LAPD using excessive force and harassment on Rodney KIng and led to five days of riots.

Waco Seige

It happened February 28, 1993 and lasted until April 19 1993. 51 days

The people involved were Branch Davidians(Religious Cult) Vs. FBI and ATF.

There was a siege because the FBI and ATF alleged that the branch davidians had been stockpiling illegal weapons including large explosives.

It ended by a large fire in the davidian compound and 76 davidians died including the leader(David Koresh), 25 children, and 2 pregnant women.

The influences were the Oklahoma City Bombing.

Who did this was the Democrats.

The effects of the bill were the violent crime rates worsened and increased more than 15%.

It also Authorized The death penalty for dozens of Existing and new federal crime and mandated life imprisonment for a third violent felony and also known as “Three Strikes and your Out”.

The bill is controversial because some believe it caused mass incarceration while also targeting minorities

The charges for which Clinton was impeached stemmed from a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Clinton by Paula Jones. During pre-trial discovery in the lawsuit, Clinton gave testimony denying that he had engaged in a sexual relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

On February 12, Clinton was acquitted on both counts as neither received the necessary two-thirds majority vote of the senators present for conviction and removal from office in this instance 67. And 45 senators voted to convict while 55 voted for acquittal.

George W. Bush and Al Gore were running for president.

The controversy was about the election coming down to 4 counties in florida and the election was close enough that there was a confusion of doing a recount and went to court to decide not to do a recount and Florida was using butterfly ballots and were confusing and hard to use and were not counted.

The results of who won and why was that Bush Won and was first president to be elected without the popular vote since 1888 and led to using electronic voting machines.

He was elected November 4th 2008 and November 6th 2012

His election was significant because he was the first African American President as well as being only the third sitting United States senator elected president, joining Warren G. Harding and John F. Kennedy.

Tea Party Movement

Protest to lower taxes and reduction of national debt and decrease government spending and was named after the boston tea party because they were protesting the same thing.

The movement happened February 19, 2009.

The cause of the movement was that people wanted them to lower taxes and to decrease the spending of the government so the money would go to something that would benefit them.

The Affordable Care Act or “ACA” for short, is the comprehensive health care reform law enacted on March 23, 2010 and was supported by Barack Obama. The law has 3 primary goals: Make affordable health insurance available to more people.Individual mandate. The most legally and politically controversial aspect of the ACA, the individual mandate, requires Americans to purchase health insurance or face a government penalty, with some exceptions—particularly for low-income individuals who cannot afford to buy insurance.

What happened was the oil drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, operating in the Macondo Prospect in the Gulf of Mexico, exploded and sank resulting in the death of 11 workers on the Deepwater Horizon and the largest spill of oil in the history of marine oil drilling operations.

It happened on April 20, 2010.

The effect was that it killed thousands of marine mammals and sea turtles, and contaminated their habitats.

It happened April 31, 2021.

The decision was made because the Taliban was upholding the terms of the agreement that included "not to allow al-Qaeda or any other extremist group to operate in the areas they control". The US was to reduce its forces in Afghanistan by about 5,000 troops to 8,600 within 135 days.

The Withdrawal was successful and left all the supplies for the Afghan army but resulted in the Taliban regaining control of the country and created a refugee crisis as many Afghans fled.

What happened was the committee voted unanimously to subpoena former president Donald Trump for testimony and documents on the events of the January 6th Attack on the capitol.

It happened because there was an attack on the capitol for not wanting Biden to take office and Trump did nothing to stop them.

The law was created or supported by senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Joe Manchin (D-WV).It was a 730 page document that passed the senate on August 7th 2022 with a vote 51-50 with the house passing it on August 12th with a vote 220-207 and all Democrats voted for it and All Republicans voted against it.

What caused it to come about was the Inflation Rates in the U.S. are at the highest since 1981 and at the current rate has almost doubled.

The impact on American Society is too early to Accurately know the true impact.

It took place because the US government was asking Former President Trump to return all the government documents.

There were 11000 documents found.

Overturning of Roe V. Wade

The decision dismantled 50 years of legal protection and paved the way for individual states to curtail or outright ban abortion rights.

The reason why the decision was made was the Supreme Court determined that women do not have a Constitutional right to choose whether to terminate their pregnancies and overturned the 50-year precedent established in Roe v. Wade.

People of color are likely to be disproportionately affected by state actions to fully prohibit or implement extensive restrictions on abortions as they are more likely to seek abortions and more likely to face structural barriers that will make it more difficult to travel out of state for abortion.

On April 25, 2014, the City of Flint, Michigan changed their municipal water supply source from the Detroit-supplied Lake Huron water to the Flint River. The switch caused water distribution pipes to corrode and leach lead and other contaminants into municipal drinking water.

The impact was the water poisoning in Flint caused undeniable harm to residents' reproductive health. Analyzing health records from 2008 to 2015, researchers found that fertility rates in Flint dropped by 12 percent and fetal deaths rose by 58 percent after the water was switched to the Flint River in 2014.

The response from the government was that President Obama did not declare a state of emergency over Flint's contaminated water until January of 2016. This means that the President's declaration did not occur until almost two years after the water supply was switched. For almost two years, the federal government did not provide aid to the residents of Flint.

It is still an issue with Residents Experiencing Long-Term Mental-Health Issues.

What happened was There was an operation called project Lakhta and was a direct attack and infiltration into the U.S. persons involved in the 2016 election by computer hacking them and gaining unauthorized access to secret documents.

The goal was to harm the campaign of Hillary Clinton and boost the candidacy of Donald Trump.

They were thought to be successful by the FBI in at least one Florida county government.
