The main focus of my photo essay as the title says was the indigenous people of the arctic, mainly the Inuit. I wanted to do a few groups of photos instead of one continuous story type photo essay so I divided up my photos into the sections shown in this presentation. The point of this was to compare many photos on the same topic and to create an order to the pictures being shown. The story start by showing the Beauty of the Arctic and First nations culture. Then it takes a turn with the image of the news article and we see melting ice. Finally we see the impact of the melting ice on the Indigenous community. Through this project I learned a lot about the true impact of climate change on the Indigenous communities in the Arctic. Their "Ice Highways" are melting sooner in the year and not freezing up as long and there hunting routes are doing the same.
