Biography
- Claudio Monteverdi was a famous Italian composer of the late Renaissance and early Baroque periods.
- His birth date remains unknown, but he was baptized in 1567.
- His first music classes at the Cathedral of Cremona exposed him to sacred music.
- He married Claudia Cattaneo in 1599 and had three children.
- After his wife passed away, he became a priest.
- He became sickly until his death in 1643.
