Education

  • Lee High School 2009-2013

(Advanced academic endeavors)

  • Calhoun Community College 2013-2014

Experience

  • Toyota Motor Mfg AL

2014- present

Counter measure

  • Presented new ideas to leadership to create TM buy in
  • Supported TMs with 4S system training and kaizen creation
  • Supported production with offline activities to boost TM morale
  • Direct line of communication between shop floor and leadership

  • Weekly/monthly reports with executives on production status and concerns

Project

Lack of TM engagement resulted in company standards not being met

Why?

Shop floor unable to meet level up expectations

Team members unaware of changes in standard to standardized work and 4S

About me

TM felt their voice/opinions didn't matter

Turnover rates high; newer TMs not properly retaining information

Background

29; Mother of two boys

Interests

DIY projects; playing basketball; being outdoors

What motivates me?

My kids; the desire to be better than I was yesterday

Manpower issues created less room for TM engagement

  • no downtime to create kaizens
  • unable to properly address process issues
  • 4S and machine care opportunities diminished

Position Related Skills

  • SAP systems (parts, consumable material ordering)

  • TMRA (production planning/scheduling)

  • Microsoft office applications

  • Electronic shift log

  • Scrap entry and reporting

  • EPAB (downtime/machine fault tracking)

  • Production efficiency training- total working time management

  • Line management/run-ability

Thank you for the opportunity!

Why Blue Origin?

Q&A?

  • Career growth opportunity
  • Passion for quality and innovation
  • BO's mission driven culture aligns with my personal goals of continued improvement and self development

Counter measure

Initiated team member re-training to see if the material breakage was process related or personnel issues

  • issue resolved for only short amount of time

Implemented re-routing/relocation (zip tied) of bundled wires installed on engine to see if results indicated in less damages

  • too short of wires

- disconnection due to not reaching sensors

  • more bent pins due to over stressing wires
  • zip ties breaking off in machine due to friction
  • team members being poked/scratched by broken zip ties

Research new suppliers or vendors for modification of wire harnesses

  • new harnesses created with protective shell on connectors
  • tougher covering/material able to withstand friction
  • easier process to fix bent/broken pins
  • less false failures in machine resulted in better line run-ability
  • team members able to finish work with less down time
  • cost of over time and repairs reduced tremendously

Project

Quality Circle- reducing costs from broken wire harnesses causing machine down time

Why?

Department consistently working 2+ hours of daily overtime causing team members to be burned out

Machine break downs due to false failures and miss communication of wire harnesses

Wire harnesses are unable to withstand constant use and removal from engines without breaking/bending pins

Less material on wire harnesses created easier breakage and wear over time

Constant repairing of wire harnesses time consuming and costly
