It had started spreading in the year 1493, however it only successfully grew in Europe in 1764

The Americas' natives had profit from the trade but the sweet potato itself wasn't very profitable since it require a warm and tropical climate that Europe didn't have. The potatoes were also consider animal food and peasant food.
