Betty's accomplishments
- Betty was mostly known for being the first African-American that worked for the Dow Chemical in a professional capacity.
- Her research was focused on colloidal chemistry

- 4506057: Stable latex containing phosphorus surface groups.
- 4609434: Composite sheet prepared with stable latex containing phosphorus surface groups.
- All these patents were created with the help of other scientists.

- She later graduated in I.M. Terrell High School in the year 1952.
- After graduating Betty entered the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama.
- She graduated with a B.S. in chemistry in the year 1955.

- Her husband was William M. Greene, he was a scientist.
- Her daughter Willeta Greene-Johnson, she was an American physicist, musician and choral director.
- Lastly her two other kids, Victor M. Greene, and Lisa Kianne Greene which there is not much we know about.
