Final Verdict

Eventully the Supreme Court rulled 9-0 that acourding to the constitution states could not deney anyone the right to have representation in court. Regardless if they could afford it or not.

Between midnight and 8:00 a.m. on June 3, 1961, a burglary occurred at the Bay Harbor Pool Room in Panama City, Florida.

An unknown person broke a door, smashed a cigarette machine and a record player, and stole money from a cash register.

Gideon was later charged with burglary beacause someone put him at the scene at the time.

Gideon could not afford a lawyer, and the Florida Judge refused to appoint him one. Forced to defend himself he lost the case.
