TOPIC 1

The Slope on a graph can be positive or negative depending on the way the line goes

TOPIC 2

Be careful with the Bermuda triangle. Actually be carefull with all triangles, especially right triangles.

Remember the 4 Pythagorean Triples

Tip #3

TOPIC 3

remember all the angles of a triangle = 180

also remember that Angle 1 + Angle 2 = Angle 4

Tip #4

TOPIC 4

Remember which angles of a set of parallel lines cut by a transversal are congruent and which are supplementary

Supplementary

  • supplementary
  • straight
  • same side interior
  • same side exterior

Congruent

  • corresponding
  • alternate exterior
  • alternate interior
  • vertical

Tip #5

TOPIC 5

A functions is relationship between inputs and outputs where each input has exactly ONE output, NO MORE!!! Think of the inputs as students and the outputs as their grades. One student can NOT have two grades , but two students can have the same grade.

Tip #6

TOPIC 6

In inequalities you need to remember to flip the sign when and if you divide by a negative

Tip #7

TOPIC 7

On scientific notation remember that the exponent is how many times you move the decimal not how many zeros you add. Also remember that a negative exponent moves the decimal to the left, making the number smaller and viceversa.

Tip #8

TOPIC 8

Remember there are 5 categories of numbers

irrational which includes non perfect squares and never ending numbers that can not be expressed by a ratio ex. √127, 9.366945... and π. Rational numbers can be expressed as a ratio ex. ¾ or -5.4 . Integers are rational numbers that have no decimal places , they can be - or + ex. -9, -27, 11. Whole numbers are positive integers such as 9, 4 and 11 natural numbers are all whole numbers exept zero like: 721, 9 or even 9785047974669605746495068476.

Tip #9

TOPIC 9

Remember when reflecting a figure over the Y axis the y stays the same and the points are (-x,y). and for reflecting over the x axis the x stays the same and the points are (x,-y)

Tip #10

TOPIC 10

Remember when ever you transform a figure the figure with the prime marks is the final productof the transformation. Also something very important to rdmember is that the center of rotation is the origin and that the shape can move 90º cw (clockwise) or 270º ccw (counter clockwise) = (-y, x)

180ºcw or 180º ccw is (-x,-y) and 270ºcw or 90º ccw is (y,-x)

and 360º cw or 360º ccw is (x,y).
