The primary determinants of health are income and social status. It affects every other factor of determinate of health. This determinant of health is influenced by the people and things that a person interacts with. You will be impacted by those you are around, so it depends. Do they have any kind of influence on you? Access to healthy food options and physical surroundings is greater for those with higher incomes and educational levels. Whereas those who are unemployed or have poor incomes are more likely to lead unhealthy lives because of stress, which can result in smoking and other unhealthy lifestyle choices. (Dupasquier, 2023)

While having a paid job improves their quality of life since they can afford better housing, healthcare, and other basic needs. They have a sense of self, a purpose in life, interactions with others, a desire to learn new things (personal growth), insurance, and employment benefits. (Dupasquier, 2023)

Patient:

Physical Environment

Physical Environment

There are both built and natural environments. The built environment includes community planning, housing security, and food availability. Climate change, geography, and environmental quality all play a role in the natural environment. Lack of housing can have an adverse effect on your health when you cannot afford it. Biological & Genetic Endownment

Biological & Genetic Endownment

Your health is generally better while you are younger than when you are older. Certainly, it depends on the lifestyle you lead, but often, the healthier you are the younger you are. Older people often have greater health problems and are more likely to develop chronic illnesses. Disorders that are genetically transmitted and can either be physical or mental ailments have a significant impact on succeeding generations. (Dupasquier, 2023)

This patient is in his mid-20s. As a result, he is less prone to experience health issues and chronic diseases at this age, however it always relies on your lifestyle. He does not have any genetic endowments.

Individual Health Practices/ Coping Skills

Your health will vary based on how you conduct your life. You could have a healthy diet or a poor diet, be active or inactive, etc. Some people consume unhealthy substances like tobacco, narcotics, or alcohol. (Dupasquier, 2023)

He consumes a bad diet and follows an irregular eating schedule, often going long stretches without eating before eating a substantial meal after midnight. He consumes a lot of junk food. Overall, he is still quite active and a member of a gym; he simply has to fix his bad eating habits.

Healthy Child Development

Healthy Child Development

Depending on how you are raised and the attention you receive as a child. Each stage of development has an impact on a child. Environmental stressors can cause people to develop cognitive deficiencies, mental health and behavioural issues, substance abuse, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and coronary heart disease as children. (Dupasquier, 2023)

The attributes that society associates with the two sexes—personality traits, attitudes, behaviours, and influence—are influenced by gender. Males are more likely to have more job opportunities, frequently earn better wages, and are more fatal to injuries, cancer, and suicide. Women typically have greater mental stress and fewer work prospects, particularly if they lack a postsecondary education. (Dupasquier, 2023)

Social Environment

Your mental and physical health will benefit from the social connection you have, such as through belonging to a community and social group. Social exclusion restricts people's relationships, access to healthcare resources, and social life with a variety of community members. Individuals who are excluded or feel excluded feel like they do not have a sense of belonging. (Dupasquier, 2023)
