- One and a half boat ride off the coast of Batangas City
- It is a remote island brimming with diverse marine life and pristine shorlines
METHOD USED TO PREPARE THE FOOD
METHOD USED TO PREPARE THE FOOD
1. First, fire up the kawa by burning bamboo stalks.
2. Boil the buri palm sap until it caramelizes and stir for hours until it has a thick and sticky texture.
3. The casitas for the pakaskas are prepared by using dried buri palm leaves.
4. Pour the heated pakaskas into the casitas and leave to cool down completely.

- Considering that the buri palm is the largest and most common palm tree in the Philippines, its rich culinary heritage might have come from the utilization of its different parts.
- Filipinos are also known to have a sweet tooth so, Pakaskas was made to satisfy this craving and allow us to have another native sweetener.

- People tend to forget or not be aware of the authentic ingredients or food that we Filipinos have.
- Inadequately promoted or not at all.
- Underappreciated by people.
- Might be hard to find since it is only available and limited to the market of its origin.

- Having ELE-PGT as a program gives us the opportunity to recognize and comprehend more Filipino dishes, and the young may support in promoting it through the power of social media.
- If people knew how it’s made, they may be amazed and start looking for the ingredient.
