- The Victory Medal is the Belgian variant of the Inter-Allied Victory Medal 1914–1918
- Established by the Royal Decree on July 15, 1919
- Awarded to all members of the Belgian Armed Forces who served in WW1
The Designer
Designer
- Original design was made by the famous sculpter, Paul Du Bois.
- Student of Eugène Simonis and Charles van der Stappen.
- Studied from 1877 to 1883 at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts.
Pour Le Merite
- First introduced in Germany in 1740 by the King of Prussia.
- It was given out to both military and civil persons for extrordinary personal achievement.
- Ernst Junger is the last living recipient of the military Pour Le Merite

- Known as the Blue Max during World War 1.
- Only 687 Pour Le Merites were given during World War 1.
- Went extinct in 1918 after the King of Prussia abdicated.

- The Croix De Guerre was created in 1915.
- The medal was awarded in WW1 and WW2.
- Most commenly given to foreign military forces allied to France.

- The French Croix de Guerre was awarded to French and allied soldiers, including 11,589 Americans.
- Medal and ribbon that was awarded with degrees based on the actions of the soldier and his role.
