How could've the Red River Rebellion been avoided?
option 1
- Not Transfering territory to Dominion of Canada
- Many of the colonizers were Metis and used the land for farming and hunting
- The Metis declared provisional governmnet to negetioate enetering the confederation.
Result if they took option 1
- Manitoba would most likely not be made (Act of Manitoba 1870).
- The Metis would have less land to express their culture.
- Canadian dominion have less power
- No Hudsons Bay Company

Option 2
- Fear of fighting and losing people
- Resisting the trade of land and standing their ground was against the Canadian govournment
- They colony and HBC were constantly in conflict

- No more Manitoba
- HBC have more land
- Metis migrate more west
Option 3
Not handing administration to HBC
- If the HBC (Hudsons Bay Company) never administated the colony then they couldn't hand it over to the Canadian government
- The Colony was mainly Scottish settlers originally

- Colony would be more independant
- Less Metis culture in the colony
