Energy Efficient Sleep Awake Aware

EESAA

Introduction

In our project, we will present a new routing protocol for homogenous networks called “EESAA”. Our goal is to minimize energy consumption in order to enhance network stability period and network lifetime. For this purpose, we introduced the concept of pairing. Sensor nodes of same application and at minimum distance between them will form a pair for data sensing and communication. In our EESAA protocol, we also enhance CHs selection technique, by selecting CHs on basis of remaining

energy of nodes.

●The black circle -> Pairing node or coupled

● The Green circle -> Base station

● The blue circle -> Cluster head

● The red circle -> Unpaired node or isolated nodes

● The closes distance will be “ pairing node “ with sleep/awake mechanism , node in active mode (awake) will send data to the cluster head and the cluster head will send data to base

station.

The next round the awake node will be switch into sleep mode and sleep mode will be switch into awake node , this mechanism will minimize the energy .

Dead Nodes

● This figure about dead nodes , and there is no dead nodes in all the rounds because network life time in EESAA is alive from the start till last nodes.

Alive Nodes

● This figure about alive nodes , and all (100%) nodes are alive .

Number of packets

● This figure about number of packets , less rate of packets is transmitted to base station in starting rounds then in the last rounds it will high rate of packets.

Number of Cluster

● This figure about the number of cluster heads , in the initial rounds the LEACH will select a random number of cluster heads , after that EESAA controlled the cluster heads selection .

As we can see in the figure the transmission rate was controlled when the EESAA select cluster heads.

How They choose CH's ?

LEACH:

-In LEACH, it will select a few sensor nodes as CHs randomly based on thresold algorithm in each round

with rotation.

- The thresold algorithm is designed so that each node becomes a CHs at least once

Comparison

EESAA:

-Initially, the first round it will select CHs the same way in LEACH mechanism then after the first round it will select the CHs based on remaining energy of each node. The node with Active-mode will be CHs.

-In every other round, every node in the cluster will send their energy information to the CHs then the CHs will computes the remaining energy and their distance from each node in every node in cluster to select the next CHs for upcoming round.

EESAA is location aware protocol and minimizes energy consumption by sleep-awake mechanism.

The simulation results show significant improvement all performance metrics as

compared to existing routing protocols e.g, LEACH
