BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS - YEAR 2

year 1 Issues going into year 2

  • You have completed the first half of Business - This year should be easier and allow you to target higher grades
  • Exams were challenging - Only 1 exam this year
  • Welsh Bacc - 2 challenges have been completed and only one remaining for this year (Individual Projects)
  • Online learning was challenging - all lessons this year will be in college

In this unit you will be expect to work in as part of a team to plan, arrange, deliver then evaluate an event. You are encouraged to think big in terms of an event. This will give you the chance to gain experience and understanding of what goes into the role of an event managager

UNIT 5

UNIT 5: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Tutor: Pasquale

Lessons will take place on Tuesdays from 12-3pm

In this unit you will learn about how and why businesses operate internationally. You will learn about the benefits and challenges of importing and exporting. This could assist those who may decide in the future to working in a logisitcs or supply role or those looking to start a business involved in buying or selling items around the world

Unit 19: Pitching for a new business

In this unit you will generate ideas for a micro business. You will then create a detailed business proposal and pitch your plan to potential investors in a dragon's den style challenge.

This unit will be particularly beneficial for anyone considering starting their own business

UNIT 6: PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT

In this unit you will learn how the role of management and leadership in the

workplace contributes towards business success.

This is a way to gain valuable on the job experience in training in a particular field. You’ll spend 80% of the working week at your place of employment, and 20% at your place of study.

You’ll earn a salary, and your course fees will be covered by your employer and the government..

A gap year offers you the opportunity to gain skills and experiences, while giving you time to reflect and focus on what you want to do next.

The best way to approach a gap year is to have a goal in mind e.g. travel, volunteering etc.
