Personality and Honor

Sir Gawain stayed true to himself, fully embracing what he thought a knight should be. Overcoming temptations and challenges, he upheld his word even at the cost of his own life. He was the hero everyone could look up to and mold their knighthood after. His actions spoke wonders, not just to the subjects, but the king himself.

Many temptations are represented throughout Sir Gawain's travels. These temptations range from fear, peer pressure, lust, glory, laziness, and so much more. He marched to his death, sure he would die. Ignored the words of his peers trying get him to turn back on his word. Got past the bedding of a beautiful woman. Refused the offered coin and treasure. Fought through howling winds, steep hills, and snowy paths, instead of resting by a fire. All this, allowed him to return home.

Sir Gawain is an embodiment of honor. He is honest, loyal, dedicated, and willing to admit mistakes. His calm mind allows him to know right from wrong throughout his life and act accordingly. He also understands, he is still human and bound to make mistakes.

Only Your Word

Sir Gawain is influenced by the medieval era. Specifically, a time with Arthur and the Round Table. During this time, knights were supposed to be brave and have honor. This is what influenced Sir Gawain.

Everyone is faced with options daily. Our character is born and matured by the choices we make. Some people say, the only thing we have that is truly ours in this world, is our word.

Sir Gawain stood his ground in his darkest, most challenging, days and stayed true to his word. He never sacrificed his morales to get ahead. No matter the challenge, he knew himself, and he kept to a life where he was proud of the man he was.
