Social Class means......
Social Class- A group in society that is ranked by factors such as wealth, property, and rights.
Ancient Rome Social Classes
Patricians vs. Plebeians
- 95 percent of Rome's population, were mostly peasants, laborers, craftspeople, and shopkeepers.
- Controlled the most valuable land.
- Could not be priests or government officials.
- Held the important military and religious offices.
- Had little voice in the government, they were still forced to serve in the army.
- Came from a small group of wealthy land owners
How they gave power...

Government power
Roman gave power to the different social classes by helping them freeing slaves that were danger.
The purpose and outcome.....
Plebeian Rebellion
Plebeians had to obey their decisions. The Plebeians had to unite and fight for what they wanted. Plebeians began to demand more political. Resented the fact that they were required to fight in the army even though the patricians decided whether to go to war.
Modern Social Class System
Modern social class system is a bit of middle upper class because now days houses are up to a lot of money and they are a nice size house for a medium size family.
Modern or Ancient Social Class System
Rome and USA
- Rome and USA are similar because they have lower, middle, and upper class systems. Also they provide something for them both.
Rome and USA Social Classes
- Rome is different because emerged out of a city-state and took centuries to let go of a city-state’s
- USA is different because behold one another with disbelief and distaste.
