Sugarloaf Mountain

Sugarloaf Mountain is a peak in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is an astounding 396 m above the harbor. It is named, "Sugarloaf Mountain," because its shape is said to look like refined loaf sugar. It is known very well, for its amazing views of the city. It is only one of the several other mountain's that rise straight above the water's edge. To get to the top of the mountain, you would have to travel but two cable cars. Visitors can also watch rock climbers climb the mountain! This is also one of the many different landmarks in Latin America!

Floralis Generica

Floralis Generica is a sculpture made of aluminum and steel. It was a gift that came from a guy named, "Eduardo Catalano." The sculpture was made to look like a giant flower. This famous sculpture attracts a lot of visitors, especially in the year

2002, since that was the

year it was made. This

in a public park. It is

pool, which is said to

Marieta Islands

Marieta Islands is a group of tiny islands, in Nayarit, Mexico. It is a great tourist attraction, and a very famous landmark because of its marine life. It is very protected though. They were originally formed thousands of years ago, because of volcanic activity. It was then abandoned, so the military was allowed to test bombs. But then the Mexican Government wasn't going to allow that anymore. So, in the late 1960's, the Government then once again, decided to have the islands be a national park of islands, and that was how Marieta Islands became a famous landmark!

Angel Falls

Angel Falls is a very well-known landmark in Latin America. It is a beautiful waterfall that is also famous for the name, "Waterfall of the Deepest Place." It is the World's highest uninterrupted waterfall. The waterfall flows over the edge of the Auyantepui Mountain. The gorgeous waterfall was named after Jimmie Angel, the first person to fly over the waterfall. The first guy to have seen the waterfall was in 1912. It is 979 m tall. It is now a very well- known tourist attraction, where everybody knows where it is. It is located in an isolated jungle. This is 1 of the many famous landmarks in Latin America!

Great Blue Hole

The famous, "Great Blue Hole, " is a large submarine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. The hole is in the form of a circle, and is 124 m deep. The beginning of the formation took place 153,000 years ago! And as the ocean began to rise, the cave became flooded. The Great Blue Hole became famous by a man named, "Jacques Cousteau." The actual name, "The Great Blue Hole," was was originally created by a british diver. This is now a popular spot, especially for divers! This is another famous landmark in Latin America!

Torrel del Paine national park is a famous park that has a glorious view of the mountains from it. It attracts a lot of people for part of that reason. It is one of the most largest and most visited park in Chile. The Torrel del Paine National Park are the three granite peaks of the Paine mountain range, or Paine Massif. This park is one of the many protected areas Magallnes region and Chilean Antarctica. Together the protected forest area is 52% of the land. This is another beautiful landmark in Latin America!
