Case Manager
- Provide staff with the curriculum plan and evidence folder.
- Assist students in accessing learning experiences.
- Assist staff in planning and preparation.
- Check progress termly.
Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA)
Roles and Responsibilities
Teachers
- Provide learning experiences within the classroom for students to achieve identified goals.
- Collect evidence of goal attainment.
- Collate evidence in folder provided.
- A range of evidence types is needed.
What
- Recognises the achievements of students who are on individualised learning programs
- The certificate is an official record that students have completed at least 12 years of education
- Provides students with a summary of their skills and knowledge that they can present to employers and training providers.
How
- Schools must use the curriculum plan builder to create curriculum plans for students eligible to receive a QCIA when they finish Year 12.
- Curriculum plans are created and approved by the end of term 1, in the year the student is in Year 11.
- Intended learning goals are chosen from the (GIL) guideline for individual learning.
How
- The curriculum plan is created in consultation with the student and parents/carers, by selecting learning focuses and learning goals from the GIL.
- The learning goals a student may achieve towards the end of their senior phase of learning are identified.
- It is not appropriate to list all learning goals.
