The United Nations logo is image three. This is political globalization because the United Nations works to promote international cooperation, and through this the countries involved become more unified and more like each other in aspects such as politics and culture.

Photo number two is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The goal of this organization is to unite countries and promote international collaboration especially through education, science, and culture. This is political globalization because it is many countries conforming to UNESCO standards.

POLITICAL

Image one is the World Health Organization (WHO) logo. This is political globalization because the organization works with countries throughout the world to try and improve health standards while also trying to universalize the ideals of the organization. This means that countries involved with the WHO are trying to adapt similar policies.

Image five is a forest that has been destroyed by acid rain. This is is environmental globalization because acid rain is formed when toxic emissions are produced and then evaporate. These chemicals can travel thousands of miles before they are released as acid rain. Therefore, when factories in Ontario produce toxins Vancouver could handle the aftermath of acid rain.

The fourth picture is waste build up on a body of water. This is environmental globalization because waste is being produced by many factories and individuals and as this waste is littered throughout the earth it migrates to water bodies and spreads throughout the earth causing pollution to travel from country to country.

Image four is social media. Social media contributes to globalization through its involvement in the unification of cultures and social systems. The presence of social media allows cultures to come together and through this they become more and more alike every time social media is used. Social media companies base out of many different countries and are available all over the world, and this also contributes to technological globalization.

Image three is the one child on laptop project. This is technological globalization because these laptops are specifically manufactured so that children in third world counties can use them, and the project also uses outsourcing to manufacture their products. Along with this aspect of globalization these laptops are contributing to the spread of technology and are therefore adding to the theory of a global village.

ENVIRONMENTAL

The third image is a rabbit fence in Australia. This is environmental globalization because the rabbits are not native to Australia, they were brought in because of globalization. This species caused severe damage to Australian ecosystems and food chains. Instances like this occur in many different countries and therefore this is a global issue.

Image two is a Skype conversation between two people from different countries with different cultures. The adaptation of cultures is occurring in this instance as different people communicate. Skype technology is allowing them to do so and the result is the homogenization of cultures. Skype is available nearly all over the world and this aspect is also a contributor to technological globalization.

The second photo is a bird that has been a victim of an oil spill. This is environmental globalization because the issue that is present (the oil spill) has environmental affected many areas and countries that may not have even been involved in the transportation of oil, thus making it a global issue. Had the demand for oil throughout the globalizing world not been so high the likelihood of disasters like these would be significantly lower.

TECHNOLOGICAL

Item one is a factory emitting carbon dioxide. This is an example of environmental globalization because it is spreading toxic chemicals into the environment and these toxins are causing deficits such as warming on a global scale.

Image one is an Apple iPhone. This is an example of technological globalization because various components of the device come from around the world and Apple uses outsourcing to produce their products. The iPhone also allows for communication with other countries and cultures, thus further globalization.

Item four is Taylor Swift meeting with people during a part of her tour in Japan. Taylor Swift is an American artist who has a very western music sound but is popular in many countries including Japan. This is social globalization because of the widespread of American culture that occurs when music is spread throughout the world.

TYPES OF GLOBALIZATION

Example three is a tribal tattoo. Through social globalization this style of art has transferred to masses of people that have no preexisting relation to this tribal culture. This type of tattoo has been spread through the ability to share cultures, and this has only been possible through globalization.

ECONOMIC

Item two is a fast food menu, presumably McDonalds, written in an Mandarin. This demonstrates social globalization because of the widespread of American/ Western cuisine. Through the ability to conduct business in other countries fast food chains have altered the food in many areas by overpowering the previously existing local cuisine. Without globalization this menu would show food native to Chinese culture instead of the American hamburger trend.

SOCIAL/ CULTURAL

The fourth image present is the World Trade Organization (WTO) logo. The WTO demonstrates economic globalization because it is an organization in which the governments involved can meet and address issues that arise in trading with each other. This enhances the movement of things such as goods, production, and resources.

Item one is Caucasian models modeling for an Asian company. This is an example of social globalization because it is the sharing of different cultures. (In this case Asian culture and Caucasian culture). The models have bridged cultural individuality and are transferring their western culture into a portrayal of blended culture between western culture and Asian culture.

Social/cultural, environmental, technological, economic, and political.

Example three is a McDonalds logo. McDonalds is a transnational company and through the places that they conduct business they have acquired large profits and they enhance the shipment of resources and product between countries because of their product demand. This increases the wealth in supplying countries which also contributes to economic globalization.

Image number two is the North American Free Trade Agreement symbol (NAFTA). This is economic globalization because this agreement eliminates almost all tariffs on products that are traded between Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America. This makes it easier and cheaper to move goods.

Photo example one is containerization. This global system restricts the size of items that can be shipped so that they fit into standardized containers. This allows for cheaper, faster, and easier movement of goods on a global scale making containerization economic globalization.
