Rules for everyone:

  • Style / brush your hair and teeth
  • Manicured nails
  • Light cologne / perfume
  • Nothing too tight or baggy
  • Always wear a suit unless you are told specifically not to
  • The king of pop is the only one who can pull off white socks

Make sure you can walk in your shoes. You don't know if you will have to do extensive walking during the interview.

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes early - no earlier than that!
  • Have money for parking and gas
  • No gum
  • Turn off your cell phone - not just on vibrate
  • Only one chance to make a good first impression

  • No more than 2 inches above the knee - if you have to pull it down when you sit / stand it's too short

  • No open toe
  • Simple accessories

There are things you can do as early as your freshman year to ensure you get that dream internship or job.

It's never too early to get started!

Write a Thank You card or email

  • 24-48 hours after interview
  • Send one to each interviewer - short and sweet
  • Follow up every 2-4 weeks
