Interesting Story:
- Born in Chicago, Illinois on April 19, 1937.
- Received two degrees: Bachelor of Science from Drake University, and his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law.
- Practiced Corporate law in Chicago for 6 years after University.
- Moved to Toronto in 1967 as an official Licensee of the McDonalds Corporation at age 30.
- In 1971, he became Chairman, President, and Chief executive officer for the Mcdonalds Corporation.

- When he established the first McDonalds in Moscow, he had to overcome many challenges in order to make the business run smoothly. One challenge included him creating his own supply chain in Russia because they were short on the supplies he needed to run the company. This demonstrated to everyone that he was a dedicated and hard- working business man which helped him become a very successful and diligent man, who many people look up to including myself.
- He is a member of the Board of Directors of the McDonalds Restaurants of Canada Limited, the Royal bank of Canada, and Astral Inc.
- He founded the first McDonalds Restaurant in Moscow in 1990 establishing the Ronald McDonald House there as well.
- He wrote a book called "To Russia with Fries" about how he brought McDonalds to Russia and the different struggles he had to overcome.
