Glockenspiel means bell play. "Glockenspiel"

means bell play.

This instrument's scale is only in the high treble clef, usually in an upper register and spans about 3 to 3.5 octaves.

A register is the range of a voice or musical instrument.

In England, the United States, and Canada, there is a form of glockenspiel called a bell Lyra.

Glockenspiel is made from metal plates (or tubes) and a wooden or plastic base.

The keys are made of either metal half tubes and metal slates. the metals used are steel and copper.

What musicians have used the glockenspiel?

- Mozart has used the glockenspiel in one of his plays.

They first appeared in Germany.

They were made of little bells until the 1700's

when they changed to steel bars.

The Glockenspiel is actually a mixture of two instruments

the real glockenspiel with bells and a metallophone.
