- A word that shows emotion
- Not grammatically related to the rest of the sentence

- Examples: congratulations, golly, gosh, hey, holy cow, uh-oh, ugh, whoa, whoops, wow, yikes, yippee, yuck, yes, and yay
- Names of groups of member of a group or groups
- Examples: audience, committee, department, society, or team
