A cheetah can be distinguished from other big cats by their smaller size, spotted coats, small heads and ears and distinctive " tear stripes" that stretch from the corner of the eye to the side of the nose.

The color of a cheetah is a tan color with black spots all over it;s body.

in captivity is 10-12 years though cheetahs can live as long as 20 years. In the wild, few survive more than 8 years though they can live up to 10 or 12 years. Cub mortality is extremely high for the species in in both the wild and captivity.

In general, the diet of the cheetah consist of gazelles, wildebeest calves, impalas, and smaller hoofed animals in it's habitat. Furthermore, cheetahs may eat rabbits, birds, hares, antelopes, and warthogs.

The cheetah is the world's fastest animal. They can run 70 mph (or 110 kph which is as fast as cars drive on the highway. The cheetah can reach it's top speed in just 3 seconds!
