What if the British won the Revolutionary war?

No French Revolution

The root cause of the French Revolution was the debt that America had with France from the military and economic assistance during the American Revolutionary War.

Culture

By : Muhammad, Kishan, Tenzin

Our culture would have a been more "british", like UK, New Zealand, Canada and Australia.

BBC instead of CNN and we would all be writing and learning British English.

We would have a Parliamentary system and a Royal Family.

A Traitor's Death.

The Proclamation of 1763

All the revolutionary heroes we know today would been considered traitors.

Everyone that signed the Declaration of Independence would be hanged.

  • British would've left the land in the west unsettled in order to keep fur trade alive with the Native Americans and they also stopped the colonists from settling west of the Appalachians.

King George III had promised in 1775 to "bring to condign punishment the authors, perpetrators and abetters of such traitorous designs"

  • There would have been stronger population of Natives in North America.

Conclusion

  • If America had lost the Revolutionary War then all War heroes we know today would be considered traitors.
  • There would be no civil war and slavery might have ended early.
  • The colonist would have had to pay a lot of War debt.
  • The Natives and the British would prosper, while the Colonists would suffer.
  • The whole American culture would be different.
  • Most importantly their be no more America.
  • Britain would have been the most powerful country in the world.

No Slavery. No Civil War.

Britain Power

  • British antislavery activists won the debate in their own country without having to fire a single shot in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
  • In 1807, Parliament abolished the slave trade
  • In 1833 it banned the owning of slaves in most of its colonial territories.
  • British Navy even waged an aggressive campaign to seize other nations' slave ships, which resulted in the freeing of about 150,000 captive Africans

The North American colonies would have remained part of the British Empire and subsequently part of the British Commonwealth.

They would've been the biggest power in the world.

In WW2, Britain was in need of definite help, the extra

territory in North America could have been exactly

what they needed to stay ahead of their enemies.

More land = more crops, resources = more money

A very impoverished America

Britain would have raised the taxes and make the colonist pay over 4.9 billion dollar of reparation payment for the cost of the revolt.
