21st Century

  • 2001 Ex-communists re-elected
  • 2001 UN aid herders who suffer worst winter conditions in 50 years
  • 2004 Russia pays $300 million of Mongolian debts
  • 2008 President Enkhbayar declares state of emergency to these riots in the capital
  • 2012 Ex-President Enkhbayar condemned to 4 years of jail

19th Century

  • .1911 Qing Empire falls, Outer Mongolia declares independence
  • 1919 China occupies Outer Mongolia through army
  • 1921 gained independence from China with help of Soviets Union & create Mongolian People's government
  • 1924 proclaimed Mongolia People's Republic, following Lenin "road of socialism"
  • 1937 Prime Minister Genden arrested and killed bu USSR for spying1
  • 1939 Japan’s try to invade Mongolia defeated with the help of Soviet troops
