- The only only other state that has 2 courts of last resort is Oklahoma

- We would be part of the 5th circuit along with Mississippi and Louisiana

- There are 14 total Court of Appeals in Texas and we would go to the 3rd court which is located in Austin

- General and Special Jurisdiction
Federal Side
- Writ of Certiorari- Orders a lower court to delivers its records in a case so that the higher courts can review it.
- In Texas on the federal side we are the 5th circuit and generally they are more conservative.
- There are 13 total circuits but only 11 are numbered.
