Viking Weapons and Armor
- Vikings were brutal men on the battlefield.
- 'Berserks' were men who wore only bearskin and had no need for armor or shields because they believed Odin gave them superpowers in battle.
- It was hard to defeat them in battle because of how swift and powerful they hit.
- The Vikings mainly used heavy broadswords, and blunt maces.
- Armor was basic cloth and leather hides covering the shoulders and breast areas.
- Shields were mainly wooden boards fitted with an iron grip.
Viking Tactics
- The vikings would stalk their opponent out in sea, and they would wait to attack at the perfect time when the enemy least expected it.
- They relied on a fear tactic to scare enemies away.
- When raided by a viking clan it was a surprise, and enemies had no time to react and fight back.
