Modern Day Laws:

Laws in Assyria

-Assyrian women took blame for Assyrian men so men would have their reputation ruined.

-Women in Assyria had had no rights in the society.

-The first laws requiring the public to disrespect women.

-Today we have the anti-discrimination law which is a law that is illegal to discriminate people against their race, sex, religion, and national origin.

-Also, we have the violence against women act. It strengthens federal penalties for sex offenders.

Conclusion

Jobs In Assyria

The roles of women has changed drastically from ancient Assyria to modern day United States. However, women still are not treated equally. They don't get paid the same amount of money as men do.

-Most women were trained from childhood for the traditional roles of wife and mother.

-Women were expected to do the same jobs as men for less pay.

-People are growing out of thoose beliefs as over the past centuries women gained more rights.

-The majority of top jobs are reserved for men.

-Women have less jobs today, and there are still professions that many think upon feminine roles [Don't hire them].

-Assyrian women are silent about their equality, sacrificing themselves for the sake of the family.

-Assyrian women men are raised to disrespect Assyrian women.

- Gender based voilence also serves to perpetuate male power and control.

Modern Day Housework:

-Assyrian women had no rights in their household.

-Women learned how to grind grains, cook, and make drinks.

-Women also learned to weave clothing.

-Women and men have equal rights in their household.

-Men today have equal housework as women such as; cleaning, cooking, and taking care of their children.
