2. Have them write what they know about Martin Luther King Jr.

3. Have them use the computer to look up information about Martin Luther King with instructions on how to use the computer to look up about Martin

4. Have them write what the teacher is asking to know about

Challenges: Many of the students are not familar of Martin Luther King and they weren't interested in doing the assignment students were disengaged until they were actually reading what he is about

Benefits:Students are able to understand and learn about other culture and history behind what Martin Luther did for the people of his kind. They also learn how to become caring with one another and they learn to share.

Assessment through checklist and understanding of what Martin Luther King's past history by answering questions that pertains to his history.

To know who is Martin Luther King and how is he significant

The students learn that searching for information about a significant person is a great deal and a good way to learn history and students were disbelief of what had happened to Martin Luther King. Caring and understanding is learn through this lesson.

Students will locate their homes and describe their home

Obectives:

Standards

It improves the engagement and involvement within it each other and lots of collaboration. It helps them understand how to use maps and directions

How to use maps to locate something integrates into science and geography

Assessment is based on a check list of the "to do list" and the writing of their description of their home

Reference:

Challenges: Students weren't focused with the directions given they were much focused on manipulating the computer on what they need to do and it was hard for them to understand the concept of using the computer

Benefits: It gave them the sense of responsibility on what they needed to do after seeitng their home and it helps them to read maps to locate anything they want

Step 1: Allow student to play with computer to get the feel of it

2. give them the directions on how to look up their homes using the google earth apps.

3. once they located their homes on google earth students will give a brief description of their home by answering the questions provided on how to describe their home.

My family Celebration

How is it integrated in the lesson

1. Students will brain storm some of what they know that they celebrate with thier familiy

2. Each student will write about what they enjoy the most.

3.• Have them make a mind map or graphic organizer with the family celebration in the center connected to various aspects of the celebration. Students can create their mind maps using Kidspiration

4. After teacher reviews their choice of celebration have them create a story about it

5. Help them create slides of what their story is about .

6. Have them read out their slides and talk about it (EducationWorld)

Obectives: Students will explore the different ways in which people celebrate special days in their own communities.

Standards: SL.2.24 Tell a story or recount an experience with appropriate facts and reinvent, descriptive details, speaking audiblyin coherent sentences

It covers English, Language, and history

Students are assessed based on an assessment checklist, the mind maps, storyboards, and slides. The checklist can be also used by students for self-assessment. (EducationWorld)

Challenges: It takes 4-5 lab sessions at 45 minutes this makes it hard on other subjects to be covered

Benefits: Students enjoy the interaction and collaboration of the activity and they get to learn how to create a story of what they celebrated with their family thinking critically of their past events.
