After researching noblewomen one may learn that they played a very important role in society. Whether it was overlooking education of children or attending a festival, a noblewoman always had something to do. The Middle Ages wouldn’t have been the same without them.
Anna Comnena
Anna Comnena was born in 1083A.D. When, Anna was young she received wonderful education. She had hoped that at her father’s death she would become head of the empire, but then came the birth of her brother and she gave up on any hope she had. Anna married Nicephorus Bryennius , in 1097. She entered a monastery that was devoted to learning, after her husband's death in 1137. Anna began serious work on the Alexian, a fifteen volume history of her family, when she was fifty-five. She is now a major source of information about, her father, Alexius I’s reign. Anna offered high praises for women's accomplishments, even though women were expected to remain secluded in the era which she lived. Anna Comnena is considered one of the first female historians.
Food
Noblewomen ate many rich and different sorts of foods. A chef took foods such as salted meat, dried vegetables, and bread and would combine them with spices to create a better taste. Also, to help disguise the taste of salted or rotten meat and dried vegetables the chef would often heavily season the food. Instead of a plate and silverware, guests at a feast had a stale piece of bread as a plate for food. The only utensil used was a belt knife which was used to cut meat and bread.
These are all questions one may think of. Noblewomen played a very important role in society. Whether it was looking over the education of children or attending a marriage, a noblewoman always had something to do.
Recreational Activities
There were many recreational, or entertaining, activities for noblewomen. Noblewomen, along with everyone else, could attend the many church festivals and marriages in their community. Also, they could watch and listen to poets, musicians, acrobats, and dancers. The village would be visited by performers who would lead dancing monkeys and performing bears. Entertainment would often be centered around certain parts of the year. Noblewomen were always attending some event or even eating some delicious food made by their chef.

Clothing
In the Middle Ages if you wore clothing that was made of silk or velvet it was a sign that you were a wealthy noblewomen. Clothing was a status symbol in the Middle Ages. Noblewomen would also wear bright colors which showed their wealth, as well. Of course, they would always have wonderful outfits to go with all the fun activities they did.
