The basic infrastructure of Madrid is very advanced and well equipped for its population's needs due to its well informed government and highly involved local servants.
- With a major influx of people that the Olympics draws to an area, basic infrastructure needs are crucial to sustain a happy and productive olympic season.
- Madrid has one of the best infrastructure systems of the world, to better prepare for the olympics the Madrid government would need to acquire high numbers of security, basic hotel, and a increase of emergent healthcare procedures (paramedics).
- Due to the large crowds, security is needed to protect the citizens of Madrid as well as the athletes who have traveled to compete in the olympic games.
- Basic hotel openings and businesses are also needed because with such high numbers of people moving in and out hotels to view specific parts of an olympic game, hotels need to be adequately stocked and ready to accommodate the large number of people.
- Lastly, an increase of emergent healthcare procedures is needed to support possible injuries of Olympians and athletes, to give Madrid a good social view as a well equipped and capable host for the 2024 olympics.

This public transportation system is highly praised for its easy travel, fast rides, and relatively low price. This map a of the metro systems of Madrid, When coming to the 2024 Olympics tourists will be encouraged to use the metro system to travel throughout the city due to this mode of transportation helping with rush hour. It can also take you from the inner city out into the hinterland.

Madrid would be a great place to host the 2024 Summer Olympics for 16 days. The city is located in central Spain so it’s in a location that would include land and water close together. There are already a distribution of olympic venues and areas to put up more olympic venues throughout the city. The economy of Madrid is strong so they have the ability and the money to make the olympics successful in their city. Madrid offers several tourist attractions that would draw people to the area as well as an abundance of infrastructure. Madrid offers many things that would make the Olympics a great experience for all.
Site and Situation of Madrid
- Transportation:
- Spain has one of the best train systems in Western Europe, known as the National Network of Spanish Railroads (Renfe), with Madrid acting as the center point.
- High-speed train lines reduce interregional travel times by many hours.
- The public transportation network in Madrid is “extensive, clean, and efficient” (residencyinspain.com); the metro consists of 13 lines and there are over 170 bus lines, with both methods of transport operating on a single card system.
- Madrid Cercanias is a regional rail system that links the southern and northern regions of the metropolitan area with trains running about every 10-15 minutes.
- There has been a restructuring of roads over the past 30 years.
- Madrid is surrounded by four circular roads that connect the city to other major cities in Spain.
- With multiple means of public transportation acting as a network for the people of Madrid, there is a great connection among them.
- Airports:
- There are 150 total airports in Spain, 99 of which have paved runways.
- Madrid’s Barajas International Airport has recently been expanded, being the busiest airport and only 13 kilometers from the central city.
- Health:
- The public healthcare system in Spain has a very good reputation, with several public hospitals located in the city of Madrid.
- These hospitals include Hospital a Paz, Hospital Ramón y Cajal, and Hospital Niño Jesús.
- Per 1,000 population of Spain, there are 4.95 physicians and 3.1 hospital beds. As compared to the United States with 2.45 physicians and 2.9 hospital beds per 1,000 population.

Madrid is a culture system full of culture complexes. With a strong development of folk culture, Madrid has a lot of interesting tourist attractions for people to see this cast folk culture region.
- The Royal Palace is the largest royal palace in all of western Europe. It holds furniture, tapestries, paintings, and ceramics from centuries past that have been protected to hold historical significance, making it one of Madrid's most popular museums. The Royal Palace acts as a centripetal force for the people of Madrid.
- La Puerta del Sol is one of Madrid's most famous squares; pop culture is seen here on New Year's, in which onlookers watch the old clock tower tick past midnight.
- The Prado Museum is one of Madrid's premier art museums, it is a must see for all travelers. The museum holds a display of works by great European masters such as Velázquez, Goya, Raphael, Rubens, and Bosch. Many people suggest going to the museum with paintings in mind to see because the sheer size and quantity the museum holds can be overwhelming.
Madrid has thrived in the modern world because of its increasing economic status in the world. Some factors that helped the city develop as a world city are its geometric location, productivity, and its export oriented industry.

- As well It is the center of national government, finance, insurance, and national transportation systems.
- Madrid is the most important publishing center for Spanish language materials in the world.
- The main agricultural products are wheat, vines, and olives. It is also one of the Largest producer of olive oil
- Spain has experienced six straight quarters of growth after 2008 recession.
- The entertainment industry as a whole is improving, due to the city’s innovative design and increase in high industry trade, but most industry did not appear until twentieth century
- Madrid has an employment rate of 79 percent; the female population is 74.5 percent employed and males are 83.9 percent employed.
- The gross domestic product in Spain was $1.534 trillion, established in 2014.

- BMX Track - Cycling (BMX)
Proposed Venues:
- Less individual venues and more venues that combine sports and activities. This will cut down on building costs and transportation.
- Having less football stadiums (currently there are 5) and the construction of a large single stadium with multiple fields to serve as a hearth for the Olympic games in Madrid due to the common cultural popularity of football around the world.
Political Stability and Governance of Spain
- Venues that will be used in the 2024 Madrid Olympics will be the same as those highlighted in the pre-existing venue plan for the 2020 Olympic bid from Spain.
- The venues would be located mainly in the central and eastern areas of the city, including the ‘Campo de las Naciones’ zone that includes 14 competition venues.
- Other main venue locations include the ‘Manzanares’ zone including 8 venues.
- A total of 13 venues are outside of these 2 main zones, 7 of which are located within Madrid. The remaining 6 competition venues are football (soccer) stadiums throughout Spain, including Barcelona and Cordoba.
- The sovereign government of Spain is organized as a parliamentary monarchy.
- In the executive branch, the current chief of state is King Felipe VI and the current head of government is President of Government Mariano Rajoy.
- In the legislative branch there are two houses, the Senate and the Congress of Deputies.
- The highest court in the judicial branch is the Supreme Court.
- The capital of Spain has the toponym Madrid, located in the center of the compact state, acting as the core of the state.
- The official language of Spain is Castilian Spanish.
- As a member of the European Union, the monetary unit in Spain is the euro.
- On a more localized level, there is provincial and local governments.
- Provincial government is made up of a provincial council that ensures to cooperation between municipalities at a provincial level. In several self-ruling regions that have no provincial councils, for example in Madrid.
- Each municipal government has a council, a commission, and a mayor, and can pass specific local regulations and taxes, but has to observe legislation of national and regional parliament
- As of 2013, Spain had a Political Stability Index of 0.01 on a scale of -2.5 to 2.5.

- The Olympic Village will be in an area surrounding the main Olympic venues in Campo de las Naciones. according to the IOC 2020 Evaluation Commission Report, a proposed area encompassing about .25 square miles has been drawn out for the 2020 olympic bid. We would like to place the village on the western side of the Campo de las Naciones because of the easier combined access to all events, including the Manzanares venue cluster
