People from: The Caribbean, Latin America, Africa and new areas of Asia came to Canada for jobs and work. Most of the immigrants were mostly professionals, technicians, managers and entrepreneur.
The French
(1600-1760)
The French came to Canada and settled in Quebec. They originally came for great riches, but instead found fish and furs. They created a new colony with the help of the first nations and called it "New France"
Aboriginal Peoples

The Great Migration
(1815-1850)
The Aboriginal people came to Canada and settled all over the country. They came looking for animals such as the giant beaver, musk ox, wooly mammoths. The way they got to Canada was by crossing the low sea leveled area connecting Europe with Alaska.
The Europeans came to Canada because of Europe's poor economic conditions. They settled in British Colombia and Vancouver Island. They had so many immigrants that they once had 60% of Canada's immigration.
Post-Confederation Immigration
(1867-1914)
The settlers of Ontario migrated west to carry out Canada's economic goals. Because of the migration to the west The North West Mounted Police built a huge railway called the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Post-War and Mid Twentieth-Century Immigration
(1919-1969)
People all over the world came to Canada because of war and The Great Depression. They settled all over Canada. Most of the immigrants weren't of British or European decent.
