New England Colonies

Connecticut

• Connecticut was settled in 1636
• Founded by Tomas Hooker
• Reason for settlement was because Hooker was banished from the Massachusetts General Court
• Important fact is the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, which is a document that is stating the concept of self-government

New Hampshire

• Was founded by John Wheelwrighter
• Settled in 1638
• Important fact, was based on Mayflower Compact
• Reason for settlement is religious freedom

The New England

Economic Activities

The Colonies most likely fished, went logging, whaling, and shipped goods

Middle Colonies

Economical activities were

• making iron products
• making grains
• and using fur to create blankets

• Reason for settlement is for Gold and tobacco farms
• Important fact, 1st successful colony/ House of Burgess

• Reason for settlement is so convicts could have a place to go where there is no dept
• Important fact, Georgia was the last of the 13 colonies

• Settled in 1632
• Was founded by Lord Baltamore
• Reason for settling is for religious freedom
• Important fact, is that Catholics were always welcomed

• Massachusetts Bay was founded by John Winthrop in 1629
• Reason for settlement was for religious freedom
• Important fact is Mayflower Compact and Self-Government

• Reason for settling and important fact religious freedom

Carolina's

• Rhode Island was settled in 1636 and was founded by Roger Williams
• Reason for settlement was that Roger was banished by the british court.
• Important fact is that the first ever Baptist Church ever to be started was in Rhode Island.

Rhode Island

• Founded by 8 of the Kings favorite friends
• Settled in 1663
• Reason for settlement, is for a second start is the new world
• Important fact, is they grew indigo, rice, and cotton

Delaware

• Founded by William Penn
• Settled in 1704
• Reason for settling is to separate from Pennsylvania
• Important fact, 1st to utilize log cabins

• Important fact, safer for Quakers (religious group) to come
