During the 21st century, we have placed a heavy influence on standardized tests, and Core Standards. We have also introduced new laws including No Child Left Behind Act. We have continued to let states have free reign on all of the standards, testing and core standards.

I chose the majority of my landmarks as schools because it felt the most relevant for this assignment. I chose Harvard College as the first landmark because it is one of the most well known school names. I chose the University of Pennsylvania as my second landmark because there is an important monument of Ben Franklin outside of College Hall. I chose the Emma Willard School as my third landmark because it was the first endowed secondary school for girls. I chose Willard Middle School as my fourth landmark because it was the first middle school in the United States. Finally, I chose the George W. Bush Library because he was the president that passed the NCLB Act.
