THE INVIRONMENT

what is this?

environment

The environment is a complex system of physical, chemical and biological factors, living and non-living elements and relationships in which all the organisms that inhabit the planet are immersed. The set of Earth's environments constitutes the biosphere. The environment has very different characteristics depending on the natural geographical conditions. In some areas the fundamental characteristics have been transformed by human intervention, which has exploited natural resources to build its own civilizations.

ECOLOGY

WHAT IS ECOLOGY?

Ecology is as a branch of Biology, the general science; that studies population processes (reproduction, migration and mortality), intraspecific relations (competition, predation, parasitism and mutualism) and biogeochemical cycles (water, carbon, nitrogen...).

ecosystem

what is ecosystem?

An ecosystem is a defined systemic whole.

Each ecosystem consists of one or more communities of living organisms (biotics) and non-living elements (abiotic) that interact with each other; a community is in turn the set of several populations, each constituted by organisms of the same species. The set of populations, that is the community, therefore interacts with the abiotic component forming the ecosystem, in which reciprocal interactions are created in a dynamic equilibrium

pollution

Pollution is an alteration of the environment, natural or anthropic, and can also be of anthropic or natural origin. It produces tempo-rary discomforts, pathologies or permanent damage to life in a given area, and can place the area in imbalance with existing natural cycles.

pollution

air pollution

air pollution

Air pollution is a form of pollution that is the set of all physical, chemical and biological agents that modify the natural characteristics of the earth's atmosphere.

water pollution

water pollution

Water pollution is a deterioration linked to ecosystems whose main element is water. This is caused by multiple and specific factors: the discharges of industrial and agricultural activities and the usual human activities that arrive in rivers, lakes and seas.

soil pollution

soil pollution

Soil pollution is the alteration of the chemical-physical and biological balance of the soil, as well as the predisposition to erosion, landslides and the entry of harmful substances into the food chain up to man

ex. The plastic islands degrading they create tiny pieces of plastic that are eaten by fish because they are mistaken for food, then the fish are fished until we get to our tables and ingest the small pieces of plastic.

NOISE & LIGHT

NOISE & LIGHT pollution

Noise pollution is caused by excessive exposure to high intensity sounds and noises. This can happen in cities and in natural environments.

Light pollution is an alteration of the light levels naturally present in the nocturnal environment. This alteration causes damages of different nature: environmental, scientific, cultural and economic.

problems

- desertification

- risk of extinction of some animal species

- tsunami, tornado

floods

- greenhouse effect

- pollution

- climate change

- acid rain

- increase in world population

- waste (plastic, paper, glass ...)

energy sources

ENERGY SOURCES

Energy sources, or energy, are the sources of energy available to man. It was produced to perform work and / or produce heat.

renewable energy sources

renewable energy sources

Renewable energy is the energy that is collected from renewable resources, or those resources that are naturally reintegrated into a human time scale, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal heat. Renewable energy often provides energy in four important areas: electricity production, air / water heating / cooling, rural transportation and energy services

non-renewable sources

non-renewable sources

Non-renewable energies are sources of energy that tend to run out over time and therefore the environmental impact associated with their exploitation is generally greater than the exploitation of renewable energy sources, which are instead reintegrated naturally in a relatively short period of time
