BUTTONS!
Staff conflict as demonstrated by Parks and Rec
Shadows
Everybody has something that really ticks them off!
- Qualities you have that you surpress
- Can be good or bad
- We are so focused on being annoyed at what a person is doing that we don't think about why they're doing it.
- Fix problems before they arise!
- What bothers you? Pair up and discuss!
- 24 Hour Rule
Applying this to staff conflict
Projecting
- We project our shadows onto others when we are upset with them
- Think: What pushes their buttons?
- By understanding each other, we can project our positive shadows and help each other grow as leaders!
- Seeing things we don't like about ourselves in the people around us
Orientation!
- If we keep each other's boundaries in mind, less conflict means more productive orientation sessions!
- Get to know our students and parents!
- Knowing their buttons makes a better overall experience for the group
- Project your positive shadows!
